Can anyone confirm this is now fixed? I reverted back to Jaunty at work
until this was confirmed fixed. I see the fix was released, but I want
to be certain before I incur more downtime on my box.

I tested the karmic-proposed package on my work machine, however, I'm
still having intermittent issues with this. Since this is a work
machine, I'm at the mercy of our IT department as far as routers and DNS
resolution goes. I've disabled all workarounds, installed the new
package and rebooted.
I just wanted to comment and let you all know that the new version is
performing great on my Inspiron 1720. No lockups, crashes or kernel
panics, and in fact it's performing better than the old B43 driver (I
get 100% connect to my AP vs. 91%).

I've noted in Gutsy Tribe 4 (and now 5) that I have not had a single
lockup in any situation where I normally had a lockup. I think this is
most likely due to the newer version of Xorg being used. If any of you

It looks like the loading now works, however, the custom DSDT that I had
used in Feisty no longer works in Gutsy. I attempted to load a couple
other DSDTs which caused my system to hardlock until I removed them and
rebuild the initrd, which is how I know the loading functionality works.
