Ok, instead of altering the DSDT, I modifed ec.c and thermal.c and built
a custom kernel.
I fixed the inappropriate MSI detection (by the way, this should be

Actually, I have experienced the same issue with several media players
including Rhythmbox and Banshee. Sometimes the player uses 100% CPU only
when playing a file. The CPU usage goes down when pausing. Restarting
the player usually "fixes" the problem. Might be a bug in gstreamer..?

This isn't a GUI problem as GDM used to, and should, follow the locale
setting for time and that is 24 hour in my case (as stated before).

Well, this new behavior is equivalent of "breaking" compiz for me. I
was very comfortable with the old behavior of compiz naturally allowing
windows to be resized across displays... I'll try the workaround, but
