i just hit this bug on a new karmic installation on a Toshiba Satellite A105-2101.
I tried everything I could: - booting from cdrom - booting from USB - booting from netboot until I removed "quiet" and then saw the infamous "clocksource tsc unstable (delta = ......... ns ) I tried clocksource=acpi_pm also =hpet and other suggestion from different posts online.
