Looks like you did some customization to your Apt preferences because Ubuntu's
archive packages (well, update-manager at least) have a 1001 priority value,
instead of the usual 500. That's why 'apt install update-manager' is doing

I decided to try installing Exchange Mailbox server[1] to debug this.
Supposedly it installed successfully but when I try launching the

My VPN conf file had a cipher and, commented out, a data-cipher option.
I uncommented data-cipher and commented cipher and tried via gnome-
control-center to add that VPN instead. It worked in 24.10 and 24.04, I

OK, I was also missing gstreamer1.0-packagekit.
Summary is:
For reproducing that exact error, have neither gstreamer1.0-libav nor
gstreamer-1.0-plugins-bad nor gstreamer-1.0-packagekit.
To fix the error, one needs both gstreamer1.0-packagekit and gnome-
software, then hitting "Find in Software"

I'm not the reporter of the bug, but yes I'd also call that a
reproducer.
The expected behavior is that, after authentication,
(1) it is immediately gone from software properties and
(2) Apt no longer pulls from that repository: 'apt update --print-uris' no
I submitted a patch for the problem of comments flooding the interface.
This part of the bug:

I don't get it here though, probably because I delete all that comment
lines from my sources when installing. Can anyone affected please
provide the given file so that I can reproduce it locally? You can find
it with

I had killed the authentication agent and forgot to bring it back, so my
last comment conclusion is wrong.
The incorrect behavior does seem to be tied to deb822; for .source files
the exception being suppressed is

that a Dbus exception was being suppressed by only logging one
