Where can I find my mail server logs?

I use squirrelmail on the web through a browser, and get this message
when logging in:
Error: could not complete the request
Request: SELECT "INBOX"
internal error occured
You need to look in your mail server logs. They'
eleted the "internal
folder data"-message...
But I don't know how to get it back..
It doesn't matter if I loose any mail previously sent to me, as long as
I can get my mail up and running again.
I would greatly appreciate any help!

Thanks for the response.
I've added the group 'nobody' on my system and it has gotten rid of the
previous error message. Still, I can't move messages into folders. It does
seem to be an issue in SM since copying messages from folder to folder using
Outlook works fine...

My quick 2cents: You are better off running qmail over sendmail due to
security and much better support for virtual domains. Transition for me
was fairly easy, but not exactly straight forward. Look at the life with
