Anyone on this list successfully downloaded and installed Oracle 9i from the Oracle website?
I opted to install from my hard drive and have created my mount points, u01 and u02, respectively.
I'm getting the following message when I try to run

doing the job o.k. SC would pick up both operating systems no probs I
reckon. So I will see how it goes, and cross my fingers.
Thanks for the help.

Has anyone had any

We currently have
RH-AS 2.1 loaded on a Dell 6650 with 12 GB of mem. and 4 X 1.6 GB
Xeons.
Oracle 9.0.1 R2
stalls on Linking. It gets as far as 61% then begins to eat up cpu time and
hangs the box.

This is now the second time I've re-installed RH7.3 from scratch on this
server and it's driving me bonkers. It has three drives in it which are set to
be / (40GB), /var (2GB), and /home (60GB). Everything runs fine, I configure
the drives the way I need them (the first time I installed RH,

What are you trying to do? I loaded a very old version of slackware
on to a 486 with only 4MB of ram to basically use as a dumb terminal
about a year ago. There were special instructions on how to do a low
memory install. If you are trying for this I'll see if I can find my
notes on how I did it

Newer versions of lilo support booting off a partion > 1024 cylinders. Hi
sbest bet would be to boot off a linux boot disk (you did make a boot
disk right?), and upgrade lilo, then run lilo.
But as Sam says, make sure it is setup to install on the mbr. using the
-v switch on lilo can help verify
