It is very easy once you have "eznet" on your machine. Download it from
somewhere (very small program) and compile it using gcc. Then on command
line say:
eznet add service=

I sent Jerry a personal e-mail earlier this morning asking about it.
I just called worldspy's tech support and asked about Linux and he
said "you could try it, but they don't support it". I then asked if
they used pap authentication and the support guy had no idea what I
was talking about. I h
Hi Jerry
I've been using Freei.net [with a banner] and am very interested
in the
worldspy.net 'bannerless' dialup service.
Could you please tell us what you had to do to setup
your linux box to access worldspy.net ?

I tried freewwweb (on windows box) and could not log in as some others

but it also inserted their pop and smtp infor, information so that you
cannot change in preferences. (not ok) Also infected all netscape

Hi Guys:
Just wanted to add my two cents. I had problems with freewwweb, too. Went
looking and found over a dozen free ISP's. Checked them all, most had an ad
banner requirement. However, worldspy.net doesn't, just requires loading their

Hi Fred
I have a horrible memory, so I can't remember 5.2 (at all :) )
However, I'll bet it's version of linuxconf already had this feature in
it's PPP configuration.
Believe it or not this is the simplest case for PPP dialup!
Run linuxconf, and go to
Networking->Client Tasks->PPP/SLIP/PLIP
Fred,
take a look at http://axion.physics.ubc.ca/ppp-linux.html
it has a very good explanation of PAP and CHAP and is an excellent ppp
