Not sure what you mean by alternatives, but I've been using cups for awhile
with all the additional drivers on 7.2 I got the rpm from rawhide and I
belive it can be used with lprng installed too? all the print commands end
in .cups though. The version is 1.1.14-5

Hal,
I do not see any information suggesting that alternatives is part of
cups and on rpmfind.net it is not listed as part of the package. The
version for connectiva linux that is available on rpmfind.net does not seem
to satisfy the requirements of cups 1.1.14-15 that is part of rh 7.3

I have a RH 7.2 install. I want to upgrade to cups 1.1.14 and need

I have checked the redhat site and cannot find any copy of alternatives

I installed my Microtek SCSI Scanmaker pretty easily and it works just as
well on linux as it did on win98. Gimp is a little crankier than Photoshop
was, but makes a very good replacement. And gimp interfaces nicely with
xsane and the scanner.

That problem is probably due to something in the version of PHP that
you're running. There were several 4.0 versions, released in RPM format,
by RedHat, that didn't work well with SMTP. What version of PHP are you
running, and can you upgrade it if it's to old?

double checking it looks like kmail ( at least the version I have, 1.2)
only supports local mail and pop3. Looks like Mozilla supports

I'm having problems sending mail OUT from Twig. When I create a new
message and hit 'Send Now', am I not supposed to get some sort of
acknowledgement screen saying that the mail went out? It always seems to
