everything in FTP window is gone.??
FTP Logs into server fine ... but NO
DIRECTORIES or files? even if I go back every directory

How about mounting the partition as ext2, resizing it with parted
and then remounting it as ext3 ? Isn't the only real difference on the
disk itself the .journal file ? I've certainly mounted ext3 volumes as
ext2 from rescue floppies and tinkered with them without seeing any
problems.

I ran up2date on my RH7.2 system and now when I try to access any site on the
internet I get "could not start process - unable to create io-slave -
Klauncher said error loading kio_http"
I'm using Konqueror 2.2.2 . There is no kio_http on the RH installation
disk.
any ideas?

I've used an SiS 6326 and a Matrox G450 both out of the box without any
issues. I prefer the G450.

Have you compiled a new kernel at some time? If so, you may not have
configured the vfat filesystem. If so, they may be compiled as modules. So
a modprobe vfat done as root should provide support.

i used fips.
it comes with the rh7 install cd. it's a dos utility that lets you resize
partitions of any type. i don't know if there's a linux version available
or if you're willing to pull the disc out and drop it in a windoze box
temporarily, but it's a start. :)

I don't think it has anything to do with C, but rather your environment.
Could be a umask issue (just a thought). Your environment might prefent
you from setting files as executable.

Kernel might panic or something. Remember, Linux didn't work with Pentium

It worked reliably and supported ssh.
Shouldn't be all that tough to install rsync on the remote system if they don't
already have it. I'd recommend it.

Returns an error stating that it cannot download/upload a directory.
Only thing then would be to tar/gzip then sftp the file or scp with the
-r option.

cards and XFree86. I have multiple systems with g200/400s and they all
work out of the box. I recently got an Nvidia Geforce 2 at work and
after installing their drivers it hauls ass.

Have never worked with firewire. But as it works in a similar fashion to
scsi I suspect you will be able to get this to work. There are several
issue which you will need to deal with. Booting directly from the firewire
drive will most likely not be possible. The reason is that IDE likes to go

I suppose you can use curl to fetch a file list from the http server. Then
iteratively fetch the .rpm's and install them automatically.

I am using KDE and RH 7.2. I have always changed passwords from the
prompt, but I have had some of the people using our beta servers report
that the graphical Change Password utility doesn't work. I have been
able to confirm this and I was wondering if there is a workaround for
this or if we nee
ncftp IS ftp. Comparing it to scp doesn't make sense.
Why not use sftp instead? You are not required to input the path and
it's very much like what you are doing now. I like openssh personally.
