also send a signal to ppp to die. Are you running pppd with the "modem"
option. The lock file will reflect the ppp PID. Send it standard kill

years and years, and have seen messages megabytes in size.
There is / canbe a sizelimitation in sendmail, which might be the
cause of your grief. You'll need a copy of the sendmail.cf file

I'm wondering if it's likely we have a hardware fault - or is it
something that I can remedy by re-formatting the drive (with masking

I would start with giving myself execute permissions on the directory
chmod u+x /home/Stephen
Then you should be able to cd into it and do a listing on it. I forget

netatalk is very simple to configure after installing the rpm. Just add you
shares to the top of the /etc/atalk/AppleVolumes.system file.

I've got a Linux NFS mount exported and I can mount it from another Linux
box with no problem. I would like to mount this from an AIX box. Anyone got
any experience with such a thing? I am getting an error that vmount is not
permitted from the AIX box.

Ok, I tried switching back and forth between window managers. It looks
like the pager only has one desktop under sawmill.
Any regular sawmill users out there? Can you use the pager with more than

This is easy using timeserv which comes with the NT reskit. There's a
little ini file and you just point it towards a time server. Easy as that.

This means that I do not have eth0 or ppp0 active all the time.
With ppp on my desktop machine, I know I can put commands to be executed when
the ppp interface comes up in /etc/ppp/ip-up.local, and turn them off in
