Hi I have a small LAN in my house which is physically isolated from the
internet. It is composed of several linux boxes (some RH6.0 and some Slackware
7.0). Because it is isolated from the internet I am not concerned about
security (also the machines hold no valuable data). When I wish to telnet to
any on the boxes and perform operations which require root access I have to
telnet in as a normal user and then su to root. I understand that this is
supposed to offer security benefits, but on my isolated LAN it is just a pain
in the *@#. I am often telneting to one of these machines upwards of ten times
a day and I would like to be able to gain root access through telnet without
having to go in as a normal user and then su.
Can someone tell me what I should change to allow me to do this.
Thanks.
