Hi,
Now, I know that its been said before that we can't
have subfolders from the inbox when using alternate namespace - but I'd be ever
so chuffed if we could. Why? Simply because Microsoft Exchange lets you have an
IMAP account where you can make folders at any level - within Inbox, or at
other note it's a shame that so many sig 11 problems with cyrus 2.0.xx
exist. It seems like a really nice closed box IMAPd solution and I hope the
developers concentrate on code cleanups and stability issues for the next
release.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Then I tried my command as root and got the

Maybe I'm being stupid about this. What's the easiest way to get a message

report the user quota.
No error checking is done so use them at your own risk. They're works in

Having Cyrus setup it's lmtp socket under /var/spool/postfix (but not

As you noted, it boils down to system admin preferences. For me I like
to keep everything chrooted in postfix where ever possible. But
perhaps this isn't the only 'right' way to hand

u _must_ now tell sendmail to use the
unix:/var/imap/socket/lmtp socket for lmtp delivery. Currently you
have it configured to use the 'deliver' binary.
Don't ask me how you do this, just know that the problem isn't in the
cyrus config, it's in your sendmail config.

IN mechs are allowed

look at the imtest dump the AUTH=LOGIN AUTH=PLAIN mechs aren't shown

that PLAIN and LOGIN are not allowed unless they're under the TLS/SSL

It might be interesting to see if timesieved shows a SASL line after

means $$$s.
This gave me the idea that perhaps sieve could be used in some way, but at the moment
thats a little over my head - thoughts anyone?
Alternatively, does anyone have another solution using free OSS?
Thanks,

For any user that wants to be notified of new mail setup a sieve

You are correct, the problem is with DNS.
My personal favourite for this one is to run DNS on the machine with empty records for
your networks (or real ones, if you like!).
The other option is to use the hosts file.
Finally, you can configure each application (eg. sendmail) not to perform the D

"testbox" change my imapd.conf to remove the postuser line and add
shareprefix: user. After restarting cyrus imapd posting still works.
So, maybe i'm missing something about how userprefix, shareprefix, and
altnamespace interact?

How does 'expire' work in this case? I'm wondering about getting rid
of old articles in the shared imap mailbox.
I'm very interested in this work since it would make for a fine
news2mail gateway setup I think.

While you cannot have per-user ~/.spamassassin/user_prefs I thought you
could have per user prefs defined in a mysql db. Am I not understanding
amavisd-new correctly?

Here is a pointer using the PHP imap_status() function to get the info
you're after:
http://us2.php.net/manual/en/function.imap-status.php
The example script on that page should be a good starting point fo
a chroot jail then set the following in my
Cyrus imapd.conf file:
lmtpsocket: /var/spool/postfix/socket/lmtp
