Thanks for the answers: The download link works fine - because

I'm looking for a DMS, but I have no experience with such

MS PowerPoint, but maybe also: PDF, HTML, DocBook, ...

It was apt-move get, IIRC. (not in the office now...)

Hi,
I'm using apt-move since some time without problems.
Suddenly(?) the following error message appears:
Updating from local Packages files...
mawk: cannot open "testing.i386/bak" for output (Not a directory)
Unknown error: getfiles: 2.
Do you have an idea what the cause could be?

perfectly OK for anything you ever want to do with Debian.
What is the output of ifconfig? Does your network work
well, apart from the tcpdump/ethereal problem?
Cheers,

Hi,
a colleague had problems when upgrading using 'apt-get -q -y install ...',
because the install/upgrade of exim4 tried to ask questions, so the
automated installation failed.
How can he avoid any questions from exim4 or any other packages?
Is it enough to set the debconf priority to critical?
uot;. Hotplug?
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

That's OK. But I suggest to use other, modern tools. Just forget
jade and docbook-dsssl and use xsltproc and docbook-xsl (

Hi,
I'm looking for a nice display manager (for XFCE4). My
expectations are:
* good looking :-) (GTK+ 2 preferred)
* small (not hundreds of dependencies on GNOME, KDE, ...)
* remote capable (XDMCP support)
* "system menu" (reboot/shutdown)
Considered so far:

Hi,
I'm using kernel-image-2.4.22-1-686-smp for such a machine
(incl. an init RD for raid1 and reiserfs). But how can I
enable HT there? [Note: I need a Debian "stock" kernel, not
a home-grown, for this machine.]
Cheers, WB

Hi,
the combination of raid1, reiserfs, and mkinitrd works sort of.
An admin and me have still two problems:
- a lot of modules are loaded unnecessarily
- on boot (it seems) the devices are probed for different file systems
until reiserfs is found
We tried different things, like setting /etc/
Hi,
thanks for the information on NPTL and NGPT. Are the
packages already available to test it? I'm not afraid

Do you know?
