Since a recent update of hal and or GNOME Volume manager two of my disk
partitions get mounted automatically and show up on the desktop. Both
these partitions I added to fstab with a noauto option so that they
normally didn't get mounted. I'd prefer gnome volume manager not to

If I try to connect to internet radio in rhythmbox 0.8.5 I get two error
message which look like this: "Could not open vfs file
"http://213.73.255.244:8000"; for reading" and "Could not pause playback"

Hi,
All my applications have nice anti aliased fonts except for openoffice.
I've been already searching the web for quite a while but haven't found
the solution. I found a document though with which you can see if open
office is using anti aliased fonts:

After running upgrading to Gnome 2.6 also X got upgraded my PC hangs
after I click on logout in the gnome menu. Any ideas how to get this fixed??

I just upgraded to gnome 2.6, also X got upgraded. Problem is that
resolution of X changed from 1024x768 to 800x600. Running xf86config
does not seem to help and in desktop preferences / screen resolution in
gnome the 1024x768 resolution is not even listed.
Any ideas??

In initscripts_2.85-9 there's bootlogd, which logs all the stuff that
comes from running the init.d scripts. You have to stick
"BOOTLOGD_ENABLE=Yes" in /etc/default/bootlogd.

I get a message during init that it is unable to unmount /initrd
This is being called in initrd-tools.sh
Also after booting I'm unable to unmount it manually.
Anybody an idea what could be wrong?
I'm running sid (fully up2date) with the 2.6.4 kernel

You're right. Any key combo involving Fn isn't going to get picked up
by software
I'm 100% sure it's a setting. It works fine in Gnoppix, which is based
on Knoppix/Debian
If I run showkey -s on a console in Gnoppix I see the keycodes of the Fn
combos involving the Fn key. And also acme works ove

cannot attach Fn-VolumeUp(PageUp) or Fn-VolumeDown(PageDown) to the
