1. PATH: I tried to add some directories to PATH, and I change

( I add $PATH="$PATH:/new_dir" in /etc/profile and login.def)

I would like to know what the shell is for? Do

how was his first entry wrong? he was talking about his LAN, not
a machine, so 10.0.0.0/24 is *perfectly* valid. and the proposed
solution by his friend isn't

Hi, i didnt get this clearly..
I have my lan set as 10.0.0.0 / 255.255.255.0 (24)
Is this correct?
My friend told me to use 10.0.0.0 / 255.255.0.0 (Which i am confused)
Because he said my first entry was wrong..
A better explanation or website related information is such a big help!

I found out that the machine is still pingable after X hangs.
