Dear Maintainer,
I installed the new update to rep-gtk. When I go to start up X with

I see that bug #661679 is marked as blocking this bug. It seems to me
that fixing this 659957 would also fix 661679. The problem is that
nothing is updating utmp. Both bugs are complaining about no utmp
entry. How does blocking work?

Nothing about utmp.
Googling pam_lastlog and utmp gives nothing useful. I have not look at

I am logging in at the console and get no entry in utmp. "who" and "w"

Justification: renders package unusable
beep-media-player requires libid3-3.8.3c2. However, apt says '[n]o

it was left behind when I upgraded from woody to sarge to sid years
ago.
I think this bug can be closed.
