From looking at the debugging output, I'm guessing that the 2.6.26-ksplice kernel that you compiled was compiled with the "Quoth the kernel" example patch already applied. You should be able to confirm this fairly easily by seeing whether "Quoth the kernel" appears in the output of "dmesg".
