Package: geeqie Version: 1.0~alpha3-2 Severity: normal
Geeqie allows the user to choose an image-sorting order, using a widget at the bottom of the window (next to the status line). (1) Although the sort-order seems to be persistant (saved between invocations), and starting a new geeqie instance _shows_ the last-chosen sort order in the widget (e.g., "sort by time/date"), the actual sort-order used for sorting the file list always seems to start out sorted by filename in lexical order when geeqie is started. Choosing another sort order in the widget will then correctly update the file list -- so to work around this bug, I usually choose another order in the widget, then immediately choose the order originally shown; this results in the proper order being used for sorting. (2) The sort order shown in the widget seems to be ignored entirely when the filename sidepane is hidden via ^H: when the sidepane is hidden, using SPC or DEL keys to move between images in alphabetical filename order, regardless of what order the file list was in. By contrast, if the sidepane is _shown_, then SPC or DEL move between images in the order shown in the file list.
