This is a bit odd. I did an 'apt-get build-dep revelation'. This has resolved
the segfault issue. Revelation starts and seems to function properly, however
the following warning is issued:

This sounds like apt getting confused. I just tried running debuild with
nvidia-glx-dev satisfying the libgl-dev dependency and it runs fine but

Well it seems Eduard fails to see the issue on this one. Anyways this

chmod 755 /dev/.static resolves the xfe message issue. Perhaps that
could be made a default in the distribution?
as an asside, I have not noticed any issue with the df command.
