Hi Robert, First of all, mysql deprecated its embedded library after version 5.7. This means that Amarok no longer can compile against newer versions. The alternative is MariaDB, which still has an equivalent to Mysql-embedded. So, please install all mariadb dependencies, especially the devel pack

For KDE neon we're about to move to a new Ubuntu LTS base which seems to have mariadb 10.3 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mariadb-10.3 So this should work for us but I don't think the current Amarok master builds against mariadb so I've not been able to compile it to test. Jonathan
