Hi Tuomas,
Thanks again for the nice effort. I think Sven already covered the
"donours" tab. So, about contributor, I give my humble opinion. I think
it's a bit pointless to keep it the software a list of contributors.
It's either outdated, or too long. I personally prefer to have
contributions listed by major release (as you kindly did for 3.0). If
so, a mention to "Amarok community", and links to relevant channels,
would be enough (again, a simple personal opinion)
Best,
Pedro

Hi everyone
I thought I'd write a couple of words of status update here.
There's been some work on pruning outdated documentation in online resources
etc ongoing,
and also removing outdated/unused bits in Amarok code, too.
3.0.2 will come probably in July; there are already a bunch of nice
improvements listed in
Changelog: https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/amarok/-/blob/master/ChangeLog
and some more will come before release. Open bugs/wishes are now at 503, and
it'll
probably go under 500 before release. (I think I'll also close all the bugs
reported
against the latest Windows version 2.8.0 from 2013 soon - no point in keeping
them open
as they've been mostly fixed since, but not going to land on any Windows user
before someone
wants to make Windows-3.0's happen)
Qt6 build keeps progressing a bit further, bit-by-bit, while everything's still
staying
Qt5-compatible too. I have no idea yet if there will be a point when same
codebase can be
built with Qt5 and Qt6, but at least getting as near as that as possible is
probably a good idea.
There's also one pending change I'd be very happy to hear more opinions on:
https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/amarok/-/merge_requests/107
As it kind of effects how credits / info on earlier contributors are displayed,
I'd be happy to
hear if the idea of removing the openDesktop.org integration sounds justifiable
to other
people, too, before merging (some screenshots demonstrating the state are shown
on the
merge request).
Additionally, I'd maybe like to remove the donors tab altogether. It lists 3
people who
contributed to Roktober 2012 or earlier. Maybe it would be time to.
Wishing you a nice summer Thursday!
Tuomas
