[Bug 471546] Re: waiting for dev/mapper/VolumeGroupName- LogicalVolumeName
Correction the Mount Option is "relatime". Unfortunately, that is not the fix. I reloaded Karmic and selected "relatime" as the mount option on all of the install partition formats and received the same "waiting on the LVM to mount" error message. I'm back to Jaunty, which reinstalled/booted & mounted the LVM flawlessly. Guess i will be staying there till Karmic is done cooking. Hopefully the ap-get update will work smoothly then. -- waiting for dev/mapper/VolumeGroupName- LogicalVolumeName https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/471546 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 461469] Re: Weird boot message swap: waiting for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1
I am also having a similar problem with Karmic server. I also have an nvidia (680i) chipset board. My multi-disk raid 1->LVM fails to boot with the following error. "fail to mount", and later "waiting on" dev/mapper/VolumeGroupName- LogicalVolumeName I have seperate partitions for the OS all as software raid 1 exceot for the LVM which is 1.4 TB mounted as /home. /boot - 1 gig /root - 30 gig /swap - 16 gig /usr - 9 gig /var - 6 gig /tmp - 4 gig /home -1.4 tb The LVM was working great with Jaunty, the update to Karmic broke it. I tried a fresh install from the Karmic disk and the alternate install disk, and got the same errors. I am still a noob, especialy when it comes to log file reports, so if i should have provided any more details already, sorry in advance. Let me know what you need an i will post it up. -- Weird boot message swap: waiting for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461469 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 471546] [NEW] waiting for dev/mapper/VolumeGroupName- LogicalVolumeName
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mountall I am having a problem with Karmic 9.10 x64 server. Fails to mount devices in fstab, and then i get this error. [Bug 471546] Re: waiting for dev/mapper/VolumeGroupName- LogicalVolumeName
Correction: This error is repeatable with the daily build karmic server not the alternate install cd. Testing the alt install cd now. Not 100% sure this is a server edition, but it is found below the the Server install CD heading so i hope it is. [Bug 471546] Re: waiting for dev/mapper/VolumeGroupName- LogicalVolumeName
So, I re-installed Jaunty. No problems seeing the LVM or booting. I did notice that the Ext4 format defaults to the "realtime" file system option, where karmic defaults to "default". I am going to reinstall karmic and select the "realtime" option this time. -- waiting for dev/mapper/VolumeGroupName- LogicalVolumeName https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/471546 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
