Correction the Mount Option is "relatime". Unfortunately, that is not the fix. I reloaded Karmic and selected "relatime" as the mount option on all of the install partition formats and received the same "waiting on the LVM to mount" error message.
I'm back to Jaunty, which reinstalled/booted & mounted the LVM flawlessly. Guess i will be staying there till Karmic is done cooking.
