[Bug 567542] [NEW] Audio Skipping After Idle For A While

2010-04-20 Thread coldReactive
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

Using alsa instead of pulse, so it may be an alsa issue as well.

Audio skipping is shown here as recorded by me:

(fmt=37 = 1080p just so I warn you beforehand.)

totem is GNOME, Parole is xulrunner based on gstreamer, it would be wise

However, I don't really feel that I care anyway to be honest, I use an

[Bug 511278] [NEW] Officejet 6500 Wireless Using Draft In localhost:631 uses FastDraft

2010-01-22 Thread coldReactive
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

Since using grayscale in the printing preferences through GNOME made it
so firefox still printed in color, I had to open up the localhost:631
page for once so I could change the printout mode to grayscale. However,
there is a problem: Selecting Draft in localhost:631 uses FastDraft and
not Draft for my wireless HP printer. So I have to select normal
grayscale, so that paper doesn't shoot out of the printer like it was a
weapon.

[Bug 480428] [NEW] [Enh] Details/Verbose in gksudo

2009-11-10 Thread coldReactive
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sudo

http://coldreactive.deviantart.com/art/GKSUDO-Details-Concept-143199805

See above concept. gksudo should tell the user (in a dropdown details
box) who issued the gksudo (Use "You" for the current user and
u...@desktop for everyone else), what is being executed (description of
the command), why it is being executed, where it is coming from and
where it is going to, etc.

This will help many people diagnose issues when starting administrative
tasks. Also, add a preference to ask for gksudo every time you start
administrative tasks, rather than one time (preference, meaning
optional. So that you can turn on gksudo all the time to diagnose what's
happening using this enhancement I am proposing.)

[Bug 568762] [NEW] ubuntu-minimal package is REMOVED when removing ureadahead

2010-04-22 Thread coldReactive
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ureadahead

When removing ureadahead using

sudo apt-get purge ureadahead

ubuntu-minimal is removed. Due to this, removing ureadahead will
disallow the user to reboot into ubuntu, and a blinking underscore
cursor will present itself on next boot.

Is this intentional? Because previous ubuntu versions can even remove
sreadahead without problems like this. I don't like ureadahead taking up

ureadahead anyway.

[Bug 579599] Re: Glitchy Sound on HDA Intel 5/3400 Series

2010-05-14 Thread coldReactive
It might be related to the IEC audio portions, as muting them "seems" to
fix the issue (need to restart computer after applying as such. But
might still have the problem.)

It might also be a gstreamer problem as Kubuntu--which uses the XINE
backend--did not have the glitchy sound by default.

However, the sound card may have a hardware-based configuration, which
means that if linux tells it to mute something, it will stay muted for
linux until it is unmuted. It is unsure of what is happening.

[Bug 579760] [NEW] recordmydesktop is extremely laggy on core i7 processor

2010-05-12 Thread coldReactive
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: recordmydesktop

Currently on Xubuntu 9.10 (though it happens in Ubuntu 9.10 as well.)

Even though I have 8 cores at 1.60 GHz (and yes, Ubuntu says there are 8
cores.) My Laptop is extremely slow to record anything. The only
recorder that does a "good" job, is one that I can't save files with (or
son't know how, I suppose, which is xvidcap.)

Even with the buffer overrun fix, it still lags like heck, and I'm
wondering why this is.

It's an Intel Core i7 Q720 @ 1.60 GHz x 8

With ATI Radeon HD 5870 1 GB Video Card.

Also, syslog, kern.log and messages are constantly spammed with

[Bug 546292] [NEW] [Lucid] SLIM Sometimes Produces Random-ish Characters On Screen

2010-03-24 Thread coldReactive
Public bug reported:

After a long period of shutdown time, when I push enter after I type my
username into the slim username box, the screen goes black and a bunch
of characters show on tty7. I switch to tty1, login, perform an update
if need be, reboot. Then, when I try to do it again, it works fine.

After shutting down, again, for a long period of time (IE: Overnight)
slim does this again.

Can't report a bug to SLIM Project however... so reporting here.

[Bug 505383] [NEW] vBulletin Quick Edit Function

2010-01-09 Thread coldReactive
Public bug reported:

vBulletin's quick edit just sits there, doing nothing. try it on
ubuntuforums.org, click the edit post button, and the loading icon will
appear next to it, nothing happens though. click again, and it takes you
to the "Go Advanced" edit page.

Quick Edit should be functional.

When you tell Ubuntu to ignore problems with this program, it will
eventually freeze during multiple "Cut" or "Split" actions, thus forcing
you to force quit the program.

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

Youtube, when not viewing with HTML5, will play glitchy sound in videos
randomly. This does not occur with interactive non-player-bound flash
such as those found on Homestarrunner.com.

This issue only appears on Youtube, and only when using Flash. This has
been observed in both Chrome (Beta DEB) and Firefox 3.6.13.
