Public bug reported: Binary package hint: recordmydesktop
Currently on Xubuntu 9.10 (though it happens in Ubuntu 9.10 as well.) Even though I have 8 cores at 1.60 GHz (and yes, Ubuntu says there are 8 cores.) My Laptop is extremely slow to record anything. The only recorder that does a "good" job, is one that I can't save files with (or son't know how, I suppose, which is xvidcap.) Even with the buffer overrun fix, it still lags like heck, and I'm wondering why this is. It's an Intel Core i7 Q720 @ 1.60 GHz x 8 With ATI Radeon HD 5870 1 GB Video Card. Also, syslog, kern.log and messages are constantly spammed with May 12 23:31:23 ian-laptop kernel: [ 1328.935472] +------ PCI-Express Device Error ------+ May 12 23:31:23 ian-laptop kernel: [ 1328.935478] Error Severity : Corrected May 12 23:31:23 ian-laptop kernel: [ 1328.935483] PCIE Bus Error type : Physical Layer May 12 23:31:23 ian-laptop kernel: [ 1328.935487] Receiver Error : Multiple May 12 23:31:23 ian-laptop kernel: [ 1328.935492] Receiver ID : 0018 May 12 23:31:23 ian-laptop kernel: [ 1328.935497] VendorID=8086h, DeviceID=d138h, Bus=00h, Device=03h, Function=00h May 12 23:31:23 ian-laptop kernel: [ 1328.935543] pcieport-driver 0000:00:03.0: can't find device of ID0018 ** Affects: recordmydesktop (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- recordmydesktop is extremely laggy on core i7 processor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579760 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
