[Bug 444967] Re: Screen flickers every 5-10 seconds with compiz and nvidia
I'm having the same issue here: compiz version: 1:0.8.4-ubuntu2 vga-controller according to device manager: G72M [Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300] It's the GeForce Go 7300 I'm using with 185 nvidia drivers. I'm encountering this problem with Karmic as well as with Jaunty. This is really annoying because it makes compiz unusable for me. -- Screen flickers every 5-10 seconds with compiz and nvidia https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/444967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 444967] Re: Screen flickers every 5-10 seconds with compiz and nvidia
update: seems to work better with the previous nvidia 173 drivers. Testing this for a few hours now and didn't encounter flickering yet (karmic). I've had the feeling that this issue only occurs when using programs like firefox or openoffice where there's a lot of scrolling. In my case there's no flickering on the blank desktop but when using the mentioned apps. -- Screen flickers every 5-10 seconds with compiz and nvidia https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/444967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 471224] Re: [Jaunty, Karmic] screen flickers black randomly with nvidia 185driver and compiz enabled
It might just be my subjective impression but it seems that the issue got slightly better with the regular updates. Though it becoming better it's still far from being fixed so I ultimately decided to turn compiz effects off. Seems to be a real tricky issue as this happens in different environments and with different symptoms. (e.g. for me, flickering happens using the notebook's LCD or see also Rohan Agrawal's identical bug) -- [Jaunty,Karmic] screen flickers black randomly with nvidia 185driver and compiz enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/471224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client Hi, I'm using Karmic with the UbuntuOne client (1.0.3). Issue: Files that I add into the UbuntuOne folder are not automatically uploaded. [Bug 471224] [NEW] [Jaunty, Karmic] screen flickers black randomly with nvidia 185driver and compiz enabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz After enabling desktop effects the screen starts to flicker randomly. This means it turns black for maybe 1/10 second. This appears to occur randomly in programs like firefox or openoffice. The blank desktop without any apps displayed seems to be not affected by this. Hi evfool, in my case flickering doesn't appear when compiz is turned off. Theres also no flickering in 3D-games (like sauerbraten or nexuiz) Weathergod: Yep, flickers are not reproducible although it seemed to be better when using the previous nvidia 173 drivers. This beeing a problem related to the video drivers means that I have to wait for a new version of those proprietary nvidia drivers? -- [Jaunty,Karmic] screen flickers black randomly with nvidia 185driver and compiz enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/471224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1271712] Re: ubuntu one: sync frozen
I managed to workaround this bug: I found out that the standard-ubuntu-one folder synced just like it should ...but the external additional folders on my harddrive didn't. To resolve the problem I used the webinterface for u1 to stop the syncing of these folders. After turning it on again and re-uploading all the data onto the cloud it now works again. Still, it would be nice to see this fixed since re-uploading is quite time- and bandwith-consuming. thanks. ** Package changed: ubuntuone-control-panel (Ubuntu) => ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1271712 Title: ubuntu one: sync frozen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntuone-client/+bug/1271712/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
