[Bug 268617] Re: error loading media - there is no available decoder

2008-11-09 Thread Sanjay
It seems you have to first download the mpeg playing codec. (Play any
mpeg andit will automatically prompt for the download). After this is
installed, the streaming internet radio will play. It does not play out
of the box.

Subject: [Bug 610285] Re: touch mouse is not working

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We need some more information from you before we can
start working on this bug.

Please run the following command which will attach necessary
information:

apport-collect 610285

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib
package from the universe repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-
launchpadlib'. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report.

If you are using an older release or cannot use apport please at least add the
following information (pay attention to lspci's additional options):
First run the following commands:
1) uname -a > uname-a.log
2) dmesg > dmesg.log
3) sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log
4) cat /proc/version_signature > version.log then attach the files separately
to the bug report (not pasted into comments or tar/zip-ed).

For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-
related bug reports is available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies. Thanks in
advance!

problem is seen even in version 2.10 of the i40e driver. The one that is
packaged with the upstream kernel seems to be fine.

[Bug 1877904] [NEW] flowblade irregular file save behavior

2020-05-10 Thread Sanjay Basu
Public bug reported:

Package: flowblade (2.4.0.1-2) [universe]
Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

flowblade 2.4.0 (packaged in Ubuntu 20.04) crashes on project file save.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open flowblade
2. edit videos
3. File --> Save As
4. Choose filename
5. Save

Expected result: Project is saved

Actual result: Project is saved but save file dialog remains open and
information in terminal shows:

Saving project...
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/flowblade/Flowblade/projectaction.py", line 492, in
_save_as_dialog_callback
save_time = time.clock()
AttributeError: module 'time' has no attribute 'clock'

After searching, it seems that in python 3.8, time.clock is deprecated.

Solution: It has been fixed in development version from
https://github.com/jliljebl/flowblade

Thank you,

Sanjay Basu

[Bug 1555575] [NEW] djpeg goes into infinite loop with a certain jpeg image

2016-03-10 Thread Sanjay Rawat
Public bug reported:

While doing a fuzz testing, I created an jpeg image and then I processed that
image with djpeg. I found that djpeg goes into some sort of infinite loop. I
also observed that other applications can handle that image. I have attached

[Bug 1455212] Re: IPP-over-USB support broken

2015-05-18 Thread Sanjay Kumar
Hello Till,

Sorry for the delay. While testing the applied patch in fresh Ubuntu
15.04 machine, the issue seems to be half fixed and can be still
reproduced. After comparing the setup with old Ubuntu system, I found
that, while debugging I added RUN{builtin}+="uaccess" entry in
56-hpmud.rules file, which I forgot to remove while testing shebang
changes and hence I could see permissions getting reflected immediately
and ipp queue getting created immediately and therefore I thought that
issue is fixed. I am really sorry about that. Basically there were two
problems related to system-configure-printer.

ISSUE1: udev-add-printer script cannot be launched from udev-configure-
printer process (as python process throws an error "unknown option -")
and hence automatic print queues are not added. Provided patch is
correct and fixes this issue. Anyway I am providing the test code (in
the attached file) using which this issue could be reproduced.

ISSUE2: Not yet fixed. Need to write proper udev rules for the programs that
create daemons. I have explained the issue properly in the attached file.
systemd-udevd worker process hangs for about 3 minutes and hence
1) Setting permissions to device node in /dev directory is delayed by 3
minutes.
2) udev-add-printer process remains in Zombie state for about 3 minutes as
parent process does not read its exit value
3) ippusbxd daemon (which is forked from ippusbxd main process before
returning ipp port) is terminated after 3 minutes, and hence ipp uri becomes
unusable as there is no daemon listening to ipp requests.

I could not spend more time to test the proposed fix (i.e using TAG+=
"systemd", ENV{SYSTEMD-WANTED}="configure-printer@.service" and then
writing proper service file etc etc.) due to lack of time. Please check
if you can reproduce the issue non IPP usb printer and also please let
me know if you need any other information regarding this issue.

Thanks,
Sanjay

[Bug 1422154] [NEW] FLAVOR/site-lisp files not set up right unless dictionaries-common installed after emacs

2015-02-15 Thread Sanjay Linganna
Public bug reported:

(Not sure if this problem should belong to the emacs or common-
dictionaries package)

If dictionaries-common is installed before emacs (which is the case in a
standard Trusty desktop install), then /usr/share/FLAVOR/site-lisp
/dictionaries-common/ never gets created and the files ispell.el,
debian-ispell.el, and flyspell.el never get copied from
/usr/share/emacs/...etc

Can quickly be fixed by changing /etc/emacs/site-lisp/50dictionaries-
common.el to search for the ispell/flyspell libraries in the unflavored
/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp, but I don't know if that has repercussions.

This bug manifests itself during boot up of emacs, there is a message
about debian-aspell-only-dictionary-alist value as variable being void.

Thanks,
Sanjay

Re: [Bug 1247750] Re: Bios/System time is wrongly set

2014-03-04 Thread Sanjay Bhatia
Hi,
On further observation:

The bios time is being set to UT or GMT.

The system time on bootup is being set to IST.

So, would this be a bug or would it depend on some system setting? I am new
to linux/ubuntu, however, I have sufficient exp in software dev. to follow
instructions.

[Bug 1039346] Re: usb-modeswitch data for the HP LaserJet Professional P1102w

2012-09-10 Thread Sanjay Kumar
Hi,
Thanks for reporting the issue in HPLIP. Can you do following things.
1)Run in terminal : $ lsusb
(It will display one device as Hewlett-Packard.)
 e.g. Bus 001 Device 002: ID 03f0:002a Hewlett-Packard
2) Now Run in teminal : $ lsusb -d 03f0:002a -v
If bNumInterfaces = 1, then smart install feature is still enabled in the
device. We are in the process of integrating the smartinstall disable code in
HPLIP however in the meanwhile to disable this you need to have a windows
machine and can follow the below steps.
1. Download the Full Driver for Windows from www.hp.com
2. Run the exe, extract it to a folder.
3. Go to extracted folder/UTIL directory
4. Connect your device.
5. Run SIUtility.exe and follow the wizard to disable the feature.

=> Download and install the latest HPLIP release from
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html
(automatic) or http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-
web/install/manual/index.html (manual if automatic does not work)

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal mentioned below.
=> system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
=> su -c "hp-plugin" (This will download right plugin)
=> hp-setup (It should not be run in a root mode. This command is adding
print queue, make sure you select ppd name having "-ps" or "hpcups" substring)
=>Try printing now.

If problem does not get solved then please run following command to capture the
logs and send the logs.

$su -c "hp-logcapture"

[Bug 561264] Re: 3.10.2 prints black stripes on CM1312nfi MFP

2011-11-09 Thread Sanjay Kumar
Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue. We will remove the color option for this
device. Just wanted one clarification. Is printing happening fine on
p1005(b & w printer), or is it printing black patches.

Also please provide the output of "hp-check -t" command.

Thanks,
Sanjay
