[Bug 164739] Gimp 2.4.0 have no language files
Public bug reported: Installing gimp 2.4.0 on Kubuntu 7.10 means you get no translation of the Gimp menu's. Someone have forgotten to install the language files in the repositories for this version of The Gimp. Also, compiling up Gimp version 2.4.1 breaks due to an gcc error (no executable output) for the standard installed gcc. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gimp 2.4.0 have no language files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am using Norwegian as my native language. I only get up menu's in English on the 2.4.0 version of The Gimp on Kubuntu 7.10. I can't find the language files at all on the distro. Re: [Bug 164739] Re: Gimp 2.4.0 have no language files
I don't know. I have installed gimp by Adept manager, and added all I meant was needed. I also was at the GREYCstoration homepage and loaded that plug-in into gimp since the plug-in delivered with gimp is a little bit old. The language selected for Kubuntu is Norwegian, and that works OK. I will check if there is no language-pack-gnome-no-base installed and come back with what I find. nmn Sebastien Bacher skrev: > Do you have language-pack-gnome-no-base installed? > > -- Gimp 2.4.0 have no language files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 164739] Re: Gimp 2.4.0 have no language files
I have checked it. I have the language packages for KDE installed. Not for GNOME. How should I know that? I thought that if gimp (or any other program for that sake) depends on something special, as a special language pack, it is supported. If it works: Thank you! Else I come back. nmn Sebastien Bacher skrev: > Do you have language-pack-gnome-no-base installed? > > -- Gimp 2.4.0 have no language files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 164739] Re: Gimp 2.4.0 have no language files
Once more: Thank you! It works as it should, but at least should the installer check that all necessary element were in place. I use KDE, therefore Kubuntu, and install the packages I find interesting. I don't think of that a gnome package need other libraries and language pack than a kde package, that should be handled automatically. [Bug 120349] Digikam will not start on Kubuntu 7.04

Re: [Bug 120349] Re: Digikam will not start on Kubuntu 7.04
I am sorry, I don't want to run prerelease versions, and Digikam 0.9.1 isn't prerelease. It follows with Kubuntu 7.04 and is installed with the Adept manager. At first startup it crashes with signal 11. So the setup in the repository must be definitely wrong! The version on Kubuntu 6.06 worked fairly well, so also on OpenSUSE 10.2 and SimplyMepis 6.0. Thank you for your advice on installing prerelease versions. I have tried to follow the instructions on www.digikam.org to get Digikam 0.9.2-BETA3 work instead of the faulty 0.9.1. After a lot of work to get the necessary bindings fulfilled I got ./configure finished. So make needed some libraries. I started to get them installed, but then the Adept manager went into the wild. It was then I sent the bug message. The follow up bug message was after new install of Kubuntu 7.04 with a clean install of Digikam 0.9.1 from the Kubuntu repository. I didn't start Digikam from the terminal CLI, as an old (born in 1935) and lazy Linux user I use the GUI whenever possible. When need be I resort to the CLI, but mostly I start the applications I need from the GUI and is happy with that. I may go back to the preceding version of Kubuntu and get a working Digikam, but then I loose last version of GRAMPS. If I instead install SimplyMepis I may solve this problems, but then I loose access to my built in card reader on my Medeon Cybercom laptop. May be not to far away in the horizon is a working Digikam 0.9.2 to find in the Kubuntu repositories? Sincerely Nils M. [Bug 201382] [NEW] Screen settings disappeared in Kubuntu 7.10 64.
Public bug reported: Running Kubuntu 7.10 64 on an AMD 64 X2 system with a Benq PF95G 19" LCD monitor. Installing Kubuntu 7.10 64 selected the monitor and gave it right settings. Also the frequency is sat down to 50Hz with no possibility to set it up again. - There is no info about the screen left in the info centre.
