[Bug 1550988] Re: Mouse pointer speed too fast
For years I had to execute the following commands in a startup script, to make my mouse usable: xinput set-prop 11 "Device Accel Constant Deceleration" 2 xinput set-prop 11 "Device Accel Velocity Scaling" 5 Then, a while ago, these commands stopped working or made too little changes. Therefore, I had to additionally include this command: xset m 7/4 6 Now all these commands stopped working again or make too little changes. Honestly: THIS IS SILLY!! I love linux, but this not only is a crucial issue that persists over many years, but additionally all workarounds get sabotaged after some times! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1550988 Title: Mouse pointer speed too fast To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-control-center/+bug/1550988/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1423083] [NEW] Mouse cursor invisible on synergy client with Ubuntu 14.04.1
Public bug reported: After upgrading Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04 on the synergy client side, there are issues with the visibility of the mouse cursor: a) When entering the synergy client screen, the mouse cursor is invisible while being functional b) The surprise: when leaving the client screen and entering again directly afterwards, the mouse cursor is visible! This leads to the uncomfortable workaround of switching two times from synergy host to synergy client, before beginning the work on the synergy client side. The issue is reproducible and seems to be strictly repetitive: 1st enter of the synergy client screen: mouse cursor invisible 2nd enter of the client screen: cursor visible 3rd enter: invisible 4th enter: visible ... and so on It seems to not like odd numbers!! :D I tried the solution from this related bug report in debian, but this didn't worked for me: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=729546 Any hints? ** Affects: synergy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1423083 Title: Mouse cursor invisible on synergy client with Ubuntu 14.04.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synergy/+bug/1423083/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 916200] Re: Kernel module ipmi_si fails to load
This is just an information for those that come to here due to matching search engine keywords, it is only partially related to this bug, so all others please ignore this. If your system does not power off at all (including hang at reboot) you may have fallen into this trap: - install ipmitool - recognise that your system does not meet the requirements for ipmi_si (matching errors as described above) - remove ipmitool Now ipmi_si is still present in the system and you can see the correspondig startup messages in system.log and it seems to be able to prevent poweroff. Solution: PURGE ipmitool (and maybe openipmi as well - at least there was "remaining configuration" present in my system for this package as well and therefore I purged it additionally). After that, my system was able to reboot again and was able to completely poweroff on its own: CPU: Clarkdale i3 540 Board: ASUS P7H55D-M Evo OS: Mythbuntu 12.04.4 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/916200 Title: Kernel module ipmi_si fails to load To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ipmitool/+bug/916200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 494400] Re: Opening folder with nautilus-gksu change desktop wallpaper to root one
Just to clarify the facts: - This behaviour occurs when calling "gksu nautilus" in Ubuntu 12.04 with latest updates installed - Until now, I did not managed to manually remove the root wallpaper after it was loaded - The dialog for changing the wallpaper is run in root context after reproducing the situation when called via right click on the desktop - Several (additional, gui related) root processes stays in background even after closing nautilus a long time ago - Killing some of them prevents right clicks on the desktop, so the dialog for changing the wallpaper with root rights is not accessible anymore - Also files/starter from the root desktop folder are shown on the desktop - This also works with another account than root I could not reproduce it on all machines though! Machine 1 (affected): fresh install of 12.04 Machine 2 (affected): 12.04 upgraded from several prior versions Machine 3 (not affected): fresh install of 12.04 I have no clue what 1+2 could have in common, despite the fact that those are the main working machines and 3 is not used that heavy what I wanna tell you is that on 1+2 far more experimenting/configurations is done while 3 receives clean configuration solutions after they work on 2 - confused? me too! :D Hope anything of the above is of at least little help! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/494400 Title: Opening folder with nautilus-gksu change desktop wallpaper to root one To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gksu/+bug/494400/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 995284] Re: High idle load on 64bit Ubuntu 12.04 with 3.2.0-24-generic kernel
Ok, guys I am unsure whether I am at correct place here - so please help me figure this out. For me the increased cpu load since upgrade to 12.04 varies from bootup to bootup (I don't know why and what I do differently). I don't feel the system being slower though. I identified the migration processes to eat up the cpu (see below). The cpu load ranges from nearly unvisible to approx. a quarter when looking at the system monitor panel applet (gnome classic mode). It may be that it decreases over time ... but all this stuff is only subjective observations as I don't know how to measure properly. Please have a look at my ps aux output as this shows the relation of cpu time the migration processes use, compared to e. g. banshee I am using for this whole uptime mainly (besides opera): http://pastebin.com/7PXM4WZX nsk@sesta09:~$ uptime 23:22:50 up 2:13, 1 user, load average: 1.48, 1.39, 1.44 Within this booted session I did nothing actively than hearing music with banshee and browsing/emailing with opera, so everyone can see that the migration cpu time is way too high. But I can not tell if those are real cpu cycles or if this is a reporting problem. nsk@sesta09:~$ uname -a Linux sesta09 3.2.0-27-generic #43-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 6 14:25:57 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Please ask me for more if something else will help! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995284 Title: High idle load on 64bit Ubuntu 12.04 with 3.2.0-24-generic kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/995284/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

We had the same issues on all Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 machines when trying to access the NAS, because the next gen windows systems have NTLMv1 disabled by default. [Bug 1005946] Re: Docky 2.2 terminates with updates of any kind
This happens to me to _all_ machines, regardless their upgrade history (most of them have none) on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and is quite annoying as there often updates come in! I am on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and suddenly encountering this problem, but only for the right mouse button. It is sporadic, sometimes more often, sometimes less. [Bug 550559] Re: hdd problems, failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED
For me its even worse so that Crucial RealSSD C300 only sometimes is recognised even in GRUB stage. When I am lucky and it is found I rarely can bootup until the end ... mostly it stucks at those Exception Emask ... frozen messages. Thing got worse with upgrade from Lucid (where bootup and working with the system worked most of the time but those messages above where omnipresent in syslog and i hoped to solve this with dist-upgrade failed) - it was hard work to do the upgrade, I had to do it with minimal system without GUI to not get stuck at some installation steps. And now I can not use the system anymore. Notice that Windows 7 works without a problem, though I notice some kind of delay at bootup before the first bootup screen appears. The system is Asus P7P55D-E LX and C300 connected to 6 gb/s Marvel controller. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550559 Title: hdd problems, failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 550559] Re: hdd problems, failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED
I am pretty sure that my system would work if I connect C300 to other sata ports, controlled by Intel ICH, but I selected those hardware combination _especially_ because of C300 and Marvell controller being able to communication beyond sata 3G performance (benchmark proved that they really use that bandwith). As soon as there is the other operating system being able to work at that speed (though I admit I never measured, because at work I have to work and cannot play around with stuff like that for a long time...) there is no option for me to downgrade to older interface specifitations. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550559 Title: hdd problems, failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 643145] Re: Guake overlaps the second screen in a dual-monitor setup with a side panel
Two points to contribute: - For me the side panel is a screenlet, so this is none special but a problem with all kind of windows that preserves screenspace I assume - The width is automatically sized to perfectly fit (!) the remaining screen on my first monitor as soon as I double click right besides the first terminal title to spawn a second one! [Bug 643145] Re: Guake overlaps the second screen in a dual-monitor setup with a side panel
Just found the button to open a new tab... :D It works with this button as well. But closing/reopening Guake reverts the width to bad state. A new terminal has to be opened to fix it. Closing a terminal does not fix it.
