[Bug 137598] Re: Screen brightness resets to default (maximum) on idle with AC plugged in
Just upgraded to the Karmic Beta - and the whole screen brightness alternates (low/high) every 1/2 second until the power applet kicks in and is displayed. Once the Gnome power manager 2.28.0 applet starts - the display is fine, and it stablises. This wasn't the case in 9.1 Jaunty. Is this related? -- Screen brightness resets to default (maximum) on idle with AC plugged in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/137598 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 444858] [NEW] Failing to show battery details
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Performed a Karmic Koala beta upgrade tonight and the following items happened - Icon for the gnome-power-manager changed to a monotchrome 2 pin AC plug - applet has stopped recognising that there even is a battery on the MSI Wind netbook I'm using, so there is no recognistion of changing from AC to battery, no power history, or charge graphs. [Bug 441129] [NEW] invalid date time prevents system boot
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hal Installing Karmic Koala Beta on hardware without a functional system clock is not possible. I briefly see an error message about hal time sync (or similar!) and then the whole computer hangs. This is from the live CD, trying to build a laptop with a new hard-drive. Compaq Evo n610c - compaq DO NOT have a BIOS ability to set the clock - so no install is possible. This is the only distro I have tried which fails to boot on this hardware. Only way to fix this (I know of) is to fix the clock, install a different OS to set the time, then install Karmic.
