Error looks not good. I wonder why you get that one. I'll check into this.

I mean, that if you don't use any precompiled packages you should have
support for tablebases. We do not disable it in our delivered source.
However, given the above error I wonder if you really run your compiled
Scid, which seems impossible as the make breaks there with an error or
if you just fall back on the distributions version of Scid.
Therefore: are you sure that you don't run a precompiled package from
your distribution? Depending on what you use, this might have disable
EGTB support. (All debian and I guess those decedents that just fetch
debians code to build a distribution on their own from it will behave
like that.)
