I once had my sound working in Linux and all of a sudden it just stopped. I havd a Yamaha Legacy DS1 sound card and an onboard soundcard that has been disabled(supposedly). It was ruined by an update in Windows XP. I have since used the Yamaha soundcard.I have tried using sndconfig and it doesn't work. I thought i was maybe the version of RedHat i was using but that's even not the problem because I have since upgraded to RedHat 8.0. I've tried modprobing the module for my sound card and that failed. I thought maybe it had been muted and tried using aumix to unmute it but its not even shown there. Everytime I log on to kde I get and error stating....
Sound server informational message: Error while initializing the sound driver: can't start sound i/o The sound server will continue, using the null output device. What can I do because my sound worked at one point in time? -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
