That depends on where you are.  AT&T in Mounds View, MN does NOT block
either port 25 nor 80.  They did block port 80 for a few months after the
Code Red and Nimda worms but it's back open since early January.  They've
never blocked port 25 for me and it's how I get all my mail.

AT&T *does* block ports 137-139 - ie, you can't do Windows file and print
sharing over their network.  They've acknowledged blocking this, and I do
support that approach.

All that said, AT&T, like some other cable providers, do seem to change
their policies whenever they feel like it.  A port could be open today,
closed tomorrow, and then be open again later, and they have no compassion
for whoever they impact.  They've outright lied to me and quoted different
Acceptable Use Policies than what was actively posted on their own web site!
To paraphrase Lily Tomlin from Saturday Night Live, "we don't have to care -
we're the phone company!".
