At the risk of sounding ignorant but not wanting to miss the opportunity to
bash M$ (oh, and please ignore the fact that I'm using a Hotmail account to
send this email):

>From an admin-ish standpoint: It seems that EVERY single virus alert I've
had to deal with lately had to do with some M$ exploit (i.e. Goner, Nimda,
Code RED). Ironically, the word about a potential usually comes from a 3rd
party such as antivirus developers or the news and not M$ itself (even if
they don't necessarily do antivirus software). What's the deal there? Not
that I'm excusing RedHat's behavior entirely, but at least their
announcement was SOME acknowledgement of responsibility to its customers
(I'm sure there were selfish M$-like reasons for doing that).

I think Linux, in general, is far superior to WinBLAHx. The main problem is
that people are scared of it. And M$ doesn't hesitate to exploit (no pun
intended) that fact. Then there's that whole "open source controversy"....

Maybe the best answer is the dumb question
