Now mine looks similar to yours and I no longer get the error when running
Xconfugurator but I still don't have mouse support. I think that my real
problem has something to do with gpm because unless S85gpm is deleted from
/etc/rc.d/rcX.d my system locks up, i.e., neither keyboard nor mouse work.
With the file deleted from /etc/rc.d/rc3.d I can function (without mouse)
in run level 3.
