Great! That's what I wanted to hear. I'll start resurrecting the 486 this week.

Yes, I know. I haven't been able to find any and I've been looking for several days.
However,
I've heard that anything is possible with Linux. Then I received:

One of the more prevalent USB ADSL modems being shipped today is the SpeedStream 4060.
This
"CAN" work under Linux, but it takes a while.
Took me about 3 weeks.

At any rate, good luck.

Hopefully Mr. Vern Gill will share with me what he had to do and aid my quest. I have
replied
to his email but I don't expect a reply until after the weekend.

Ok, I have a WD 1.2 gig and a WD 2.5 gig that I can use in the 486. I'd like to ask
about the
size estimate. Is there additional software I need other than RH 7.0? I have just
installed
a RH 7.0 workstation with all the servers except Apache and internet servers and the
install
only used ~850 meg including X and Gnome. If RH is all I need then the one gig would
do.

Great, I'll check into it.

Thank you.
