The difference is that Einstien did not kill Newton in order to get his
knowledge. I think of Linus as someone who built on previous work.  He did
not steal source code, squash smaller competitors and bully people into
alliances with him.  He built on Minix and other Unix OS variants and
continues to do so.  I think you need to understand more about intellectual
property and derivitive works.  I knew I should not have started this!

Oh, yes.  Right again.  It is indeed true that neither Mercedes nor BMW
learned anything from Henry Ford, or from each other.

And yes, I have noticed that absolutely nothing about the underlying
architecture and user interface of Red Hat 7.0 looks at all like anything
ever seen before in an operating system.  Quite remarkable, indeed.  No
wonder you (undoubtedly) think of Linus as a pioneer.  I know I do.
