So cause the 2D goes into the 3D and the 3D goes to the monitor I should be 
looking at the drivers for the 3D card then?  Might explain why sometimes 
when changing resolutions the video card (monitor?) seems to go to sleep and 
never wake up requiring a power off (only does that in Linux).

Why is it then that Xconfigurator (even the Red Hat installer) only detect 
the 2D card?
