Two things:
First, make sure you have edited your /etc/pam.d/kppp if you're
trying to use KPPP to connect. Change it from:
auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_rootok.so
to
auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_permit.so
Also, make sure you have the DNS servers specified and the IP address
of the remote router may also need to be specified.
Finally, one other buglet in KPPP: Make sure you do **NOT** have the
box checked (under DNS in KPPP) that says "autoconfigure hostname from
this IP" This changes the "name" of your box when you connect.
