Hi,
In a linux box, I had a user by the name of user1. I had to change the
name of user1 to newuser1, so I changed the entry of user1 in passwd
file and group file. Having done this I tried to change the password of
newuser1 by "passwd newuser1" but I got the foll error message:
linux2:~# passwd newuser1
passwd: Authentication service cannot retrieve authentication info.
Could somebody pls point out what could be wrong in what I did. Later on
I also tried by replacing the entries of user1 with newuser1 in
/etc/gshadow file but in vain.
