If the hard drive was bigger, you could put RedHat on it, but with only 40M, I
don't think you can do an install. On the other hand, it would make an
interesting
X terminal. You might try one of the distributions that are designed for
floppy
or net booting. (Or put in a bigger hard drive.)
The only URL I have handy at the moment is http://www.ltsp.org but there
are others.
I wish I could remember the site that had a nice how-to about turning an
old 386
into a nice X terminal, and the performance you can expect.
