When you installed Linus, did you use the GUI installer?  If so, did you
have any trouble with rodent support at that time?

If no, then as root, in a console, i.e., not running X, run Xconfiguator.
It has a rodent question section (if I remember correctly).  See if that
fixes the problem.

BTW, use MS switch mode for access to all three buttons (it is a three
button mouse, right? :-)
