Red Hat rather prominently publicized the lp problem multiple times.
They were pretty annoyed about letting that one slip in between the
last beta release and the actual distro. Those who installed the
public 6.1 beta saw that the printer worked there. I believe it may
also have been in the beta that an attempt was made to set up sound
during the installation - at least, the beta attempted to set up my
laptops ess maestro chipset; then put up a dialog box saying there was
no driver yet and that it should be out soon.
6.2b3 properly installs the printer support. This includes having the
support for my Epson Stylus 740 color inkjet printer. The sound was
set up properly, and automatically, on the laptop.
You may like 6.2b3 better.
