My sentiments, exactly. I guess I got a defective 6.0. It never asked me
anything about a soundcard.

I installed it (6.0) months ago. I just turned sound on yesterday. That was
simply to ensure the card still worked.

As for 6.1, 5.1 taught me not to trust anything from RH with a .1 on the
end. The ones before and after are usually safe enough to be reasonably
sure that everything will still work after the install..
