Didn't you say that you use gnome? I'm assuming that said lines are not
in your .Xdefaults file. From there I'd dig through the gnome configuration
files, both personal and system.
Like I previously mentioned, I use RH6.0 and OpenWindows, so my configuration
is different than yours.
