The way my ADSL router works is that it has a number of interfaces --
Ethernet, serial and VCCs. My internal network is obviously connected to the
Ethernet interface, which has a private class C IP; one of the VCCs is
running PPP over ATM over DSL (phew) and has a "real" IP. The ADSL NT then
routes between the two, using NAT and even port forwarding. I guess the
routing in this case stops at the ADSL NT as far as other systems on the
'Net are concerned.
