I am forced to use the kernel version 2.4.20-8 which comes with default
installation
of RedHat 9. Whereas the latest version of the kernel for RedHat 9 is
2.4.20-18.9 .
But as clearcase 5.0 only supports upto RedHat 9 kernel 2.4.20-8 , I am
forced to
live with that kernel.
So I am just wondering about the seriousness of various vulnerabilities
of kernel-2.4.20-8 .
In this situation, what are the various ways I can avoid these
vulnerabilities without
upgrading to the latest kernel version? Can someone point to me the
differences between the
two kernels 2.4.20-8 and the latest 2.4.20-18.9? What are the various
vulnerabilities
that have been corrected since 2.4.20-8 till the latest release of
redhat 9 kernel?
Any useful links or information on this?
My aim is to list all the vulnerabilities detected in/after 2.4.20-8
version and to validate
how serious they are and if possible to apply patches to the kernel
2.4.20-8

Any kind of info is highly appreciated....
