Man top posted threads are hard to follow. I am not wanting to add too much to a seeming confusing issue but I don't recall any one pointing out that there is a vnc client and server for windows that will enable you to run your linux desktop on any windows box. My brother (NT admin) uses it all the time to manage his new linux boxes from his xp desktop.
