I just set up RH5.0, downloaded the 18MB Netscape RPM file (at 28.8!) on my
Win95 system, then tried to ftp it to my Linux box using Ethernet LAN cards.
It took just as long on the Ethernet LAN to transfer! (about 3000
bytes/sec). Only two LAN cards on the LAN, total cable length of 10 feet! I
was using the FTP Explorer program on the Win95 computer.
Any help at getting my Ethernet to run at Ethernet speeds will be appreciated.
