If anyone is looking to purchase a really great shell programming book I
recommend the following book. "Portable Shell Programming" by Bruce
Blinn. Its small but it contains excellent examples and explanations for
someone trying to learn. I have been using it for two years now and I
have found nothing that is even close. Its also great for seasoned
veterans since it also contains advanced examples and explanations. This
book goes as far to explain what every single line of code is doing during
execution.

I picked mine up at www.amazon.com
